ThePointProbe®Plus(PPP)combinesthewell-knownfeaturesoftheprovenPointProbe®seriessuchashighapplicationversatilityandcompatibilitywithmostcommercialSPMswithafurtherreducedandmorereproducIBLetiprADIusaswellasamoredefinedtipshape.NANOSENSORS™PPP-NCSTPtAFMprobesaredesignedfornon-contactorsofttappingmodeimaging.Thecombinationofsoftcantileverandfairlyhighresonancefrequencyenablesstableandfastmeasurementswithreducedtip-sampleinteraction.Thisfeaturesignificantlyreducestipwearandsamplewearatthesametime.
Theprobeoffersuniquefeatures:

Pleasenote:Wearatthetipcanoccurifoperatingincontact-,friction-orforcemodulationmode.
ThePtIr5coatingisanapproximately25nmthickdoublelayerofchromiumandplatinumiridium5onbothsidesofthecantilever.Thetipsidecoatingenhancestheconductivityofthetipandallowselectricalcontacts.Thedetectorsidecoatingenhancesthereflectivityofthelaserbeambyafactorofabout2andpreventslightfrominterferingwithinthecantilever.Thecoatingprocessisoptimizedforstresscompensationandwearresistance.Thebendingofthecantileverduetostressislessthan3.5%ofthecantileverlength.
